I couldn’t wait to hear Kari Jobe’s Newest CD “The Garden” I had previously heard some of her songs (I am Not Alone) and loved them so I knew this wouldn’t be any different. Her voice is soft but it reaches into your soul and speaks to you on so many different levels. I’ve been a bit lost lately so having this on while reading the bible has really seemed to put my spirit at ease. Don’t ask me what it is but it just helps me clear my mind.

Songs from “The Garden” that’ll Reach Your Soul

On the CD there are 14 individual songs that just fit perfectly. It doesn’t matter your mood or the season of life you are in, each one can strike a cord in a different way. For me it was The Garden. To me the words were just reaching through vines inside me and tearing apart all the weeds that have been building up. The words were definitely needed for me, even if she didn’t specifically write it to me, it did feel like it. I needed to see that deep inside I am still there and that God is just waiting around the corner.

Heal Our Souls, Hear Our Prayers

“Heal Our Land” was the next song that would reach my heart. So many of us are going through something and if we aren’t currently we know someone that is. Many of us lose faith and others simply do not know that there is hope. I recently came into contact with someone that didn’t believe she could be loved by God because things in her past. I remember all too well how that felt. I was simply a little girl that was being told by everyone I was a horrible child and that after putting my own mother behind bars that no one would love me and was even asked how I could still go on living. Let me tell you, as the words in this song go “Lord will you hear our cry,” because so many people need to know there is hope and that you really are there. “That every heart will know” that no matter what is going on you are there and you DO love all of them.

This past week has been a trying on me, but through Worship and reading I have found my journey and been able to feel a peace. I feel more and more at peace than I have in a long time. My walk had grown dull, everything in life was coming at me and I hadn’t been able to find a church I felt I belonged in. I talked to a girlfriend of mine today and was telling her all about this CD, even made her listen to it over the phone. There is just something started in me and I’m beginning to feel like myself once again, happier and home.

Kari Jobe talks about how for everything there is a season and we must go through them all at one point in our lives. I totally agree and I feel for all too long I went through winter and got stuck. So many of us feel cold and alone for too long. I just hope that if you are going through that, hopefully you can put this CD in and listen to it and let it speak to you and give you the peace it has given me.
