I Chopped My Hair and Love It!
Today I chopped off a lot of my hair, I must admit just before the appointment I felt like calling up and saying “nevermind.” I haven’t actually had a professional cut my hair in so many years. Only thing I ever let them do is trim less than an inch (mostly dead ends) and color it. Today I wanted something lighter but still slightly long and no color.
I had a variety of styles I liked, Jennifer Aniston, Claudia S, Emma Stone, etc all of which had long layered hair. I wasn’t sure with the thickness that I have if it would work. Here’s the after. I will work on it more and try different things such as curling it up and such. I tell you it feels great being able to let it down and just shake it. It also isn’t pulling on my head which I love.
AFTER
If any of you are in Indiana, I went to Locks Salon and Spa in Greenwood, Indiana.
I did the same thing when I moved to Alaska, only I cut all of mine off and I cried like a baby. I sat on my hair back then and with 2 little ones it was just to had to french braid it every day so away it went. Now all I ever do is trim it, but I keep it in layers cuz its to heavy if I don’t. So I say GOOD for YOU!!! and I like it 🙂
I love it!! It really flatters your face.
I was surprised after I cut my hair short how little shampoo I needed and how fast it dried. It used to take so long to dry my long, unlayered hair, as you know 🙂
@D’Anna Thank you so much. I must admit that at first I had them not cut much off but when I saw it I said shorter. Course then the first time I looked in the mirror after it was cut and started drying it had curled up. I was horrified what my hair was doing, but they used a flat iron and it looked great. I have natural curl/wave so I’ll have to do that more often. Sorry you didn’t like yours. I think it is the drastic change that makes us feel so bad about it. After posting it here and on facebook I got several compliments so I felt much better, but the biggest one was my hubby saying it looked good. 🙂
@Elizabeth Thank you, I was really worried if it would work with my face. Actually I had asked them at the salon if it would or if I just had one of those faces you couldn’t do much with but keep it long. lol. I do like that it no longer takes 6+hours to dry my hair. 😉
@Sippy Cup Mom Thank you. It does feel better and I’m hoping it takes all those headaches away. So far it is so much lighter and I love swinging it back and forth lol. (silly girl moment but I’m sure all three of you have done that)
It looks fantastic! I got my hair cut on Saturday and I feel so much better!
That has got to feel so good. Lucky for you it looks good at both lengths. Mine looks terrible long and I have to keep it GI Jane style.
Thanks for stopping by earlier. I hope you enjoy the new ‘do!
Sorry, I haven’t been around lately. Your hair looks great! I’ll bet it feels a lot lighter.
