The Life of a Home Mom

Our Morning at the Indiana War Museum

On Saturday the hubby told me he wanted to do some quality time with the family, which meant having to look things up. Normally we would normally do a picnic in the park but the weather hasn’t been nice so we’ve been doing a lot of the Dollar theater movies and even though they are cheap the snacks are not. He had something totally different in mind though.

Indiana War Museum

Where’d we end up? The Indiana War Museum, as many of you know he was a Marine (always will be) and is now in the Army. So of course this is very interesting for him, SoccerBoy is also very interested in history so it catches his attention.

The rest of them, well I have two girls, one of which is interested in fashion and the other into being a vet when she grows up and of course Little A just turned 4 and has a VERY short attention span.

Either way, it turned out really well. We have always loved our children to learn with a more hands-on or up close type of learning, anything educational we will take them too if we can.

Each one loved a certain part of this museum, for Little A it was all about the planes. The girls both loved the fact that they saw the first women uniforms, etc. SoccerBoy liked it all, but really LOVED the B-2 and asked me to let his papa (my dad) know. Myself, it’ll sound funny but I loved the quill pens, flags from the past and of course the architecture that was all around. Oh and of course the Abraham Lincoln face bust with hands.

We walked through scenes as if we were right there, there were dummies up high pointing guns down below at other soldiers to give you the feel of what a sniper did. Little A wasn’t sure about that, but he really got scared when we entered the trenches. Once out of there he found the plans and ships which made his day after that.

Hope you enjoy our trip through the museum, I tried posting the best pictures for you.
