Gearing up for those Fall Meals
Fall Is my Favorite Season
Fall is my favorite season of the year. Why? Oh something about the cool breeze that finally flows after a super hot summer, or maybe it’s all the beautiful colors everywhere you look. The reds, oranges, yellows, etc look as if they were painting their own canvas. But it is also the smells that get to me and I’m not meaning just those fire places going but the smells of home-baked meals, cookies, brownies, etc.
Fall Means Chili Time
I grew up in a home that always had chili cooking in the background during the colder months and for many years I never tried after moving out and having a family of my own. At least not until I moved to where chili only seemed to be the perfect meal during times of cold. Last year I tried my hand on white chicken chili and it turned out great, only …not for the kids. It was too hot for them, just right for adults though. So they really didn’t want to try any other chili/soup/stews I wanted to make after that.
Fall Meals in the form of Chili
With the change in weather I decided it was time to try my hand at chili again. I made a simple chili last night that the kids loved so much they wanted seconds. SCORE! Oh and they loved the cornbread that went with it. So tomorrow I’m trying the white chicken chili again, but this time with less peppers. Think they’ll like it? I sure hope so. What types of warm weather foods, errr comfort foods do you like to make during the cold? Got any easy recipes for me to try? Please leave a comment to a recipe you have.
