The Life of a Home Mom

Our Morning Walk

Wow, I feel as if I’ve accomplished a lot today (granted I still need to work, shh). This morning, about an hour after the girls boarded the bus Little A and I went for a walk. Today is Wednesday, which normally means our local paper has the coupons in it from the previous Sunday…but ours didn’t for some reason today. (sad face here)

The intention for our walk was so I could deposit some checks that were in my desk (yes I hadn’t cashed them yet) and since they had just built a new one down the road that was the same as mine there was no need to wait until our next trip to Walmart. I cut across the highway (I hate doing that) and dart inside the bank. No one was in there so I pull out my bank card, the checks and my ID and hand it all over. She looks at me and says, “What do you want to do?” I look at her and say, “to deposit my checks.” She looks them over and looks back up and me and says, “These are for “insert bank name here” and I reply yes and you are “insert bank name here” or can I only do it at Walmart? (I was honestly confused) At this point she says, “I’m sorry dear, but we bought out “insert bank name here” and this is Commerce Bank, we can’t deposit this.” Akkkk, this was the whole reason for coming. Well I thanked her for her time and left. Darting across the street to Starbucks, “hey they love me and my money.”
I decided we’d walk even further to cut across the highway where there actually is a crosswalk, I would’ve done it before but they don’t have one near this bank and it was quicker. So once back home Little A wanted to play out front a bit and chase some more birds. The ice is slowly melting away, salt is really high at the stores or not even out anymore, instead they have sand. Umm, yeah not with these kids they’d think it was a sandbox. lol. So I thought I’d be smart and pour hot water on the ice. I got some of it to crack and removed it but not all. Here’s some pics of today’s adventures.

Of course Little A’s favorite part of the day, besides playing, is checking the mail. Hmmm, this is my favorite part as well. Anyone else love checking the mail?

  1. I love checking the mail! Granted, now I have to walk all the way to the post office to do it because we switched (someone was going through our home mailbox), but a little exercise never hurt. 🙂

  2. Ugh, if I could figure out this new template I'd love to do exchanges but it won't let me do anything to my sidebars. 🙁

i love getting the mail too except the days it is only bills!
