Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas Grinch-Inspired Ornament
Disclosure: We were sent this movie for review purposes but we’ve always loved watching it on TV. Thought you’d enjoy this craft idea to go with it. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with the free physical copy I am including in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.
Grinch-inspired ornaments for your Christmas tree this year. They are really easy to make and the kids will love helping with it too! Make these while watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas on TV.
The Grinch Stole Christmas The Ultimate Edition
This holiday season some of you probably still haven’t quite finished your holiday shopping. I am raising my hand here as I’m one of them. Amazingly this year I got all the gifts, minus the fun game gifts …. ya know the type you put plastic wrap in a ball and have everyone unrolling it, getting prizes as they go. But I think everyone should at least include Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas movie. This year it came out on Blu-ray, dvd and Digital which is great for everyone that at least has a DVD and if you have a PS4 that’ll play it too. I know we’ve been watching it all day.
The best-selling, perennial holiday classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!: The Ultimate Edition, got even better with the addition of two Grinch specials, which are available in high definition for the first time ever! Magnificently narrated by Boris Karloff (Frankenstein, The Mummy) and directed by animation genius and cartoon legend Chuck Jones (Looney Tunes, What’s Opera, Doc?), How the Grinch Stole Christmas! tells the story of the miserable Grinch, who wants to sabotage Christmas for all the Whos in Who-ville. This release also includes The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat and Halloween is Grinch Night. Available now on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, which includes a Blu-ray™, DVD and digital copy for $24.98 SRP, and standard definition for $19.98 SRP.
My kids have always loved The Grinch so while not all of us are here I made sure even the oldest had this classic. As you know he’s in the military now and away from home, couldn’t have him do holidays without our traditions. He opened his today so we are watching ours today. Whether you watch this movie all month long, on the 21st or Christmas eve this is a great Holiday movie to watch as a family and would make a great stocking stuffer.
Right now it is being aired on TV so when you have a chance make sure to catch it if you haven’t already. Let me know what you think!
The Grinch-Inspired Ornament
We decided to make ornaments for the tree today so the kids decided on a Grinch-inspired Ornament. This is super easy for the kids to make and the instructions will be just as quick for ya.
Items Needed:
- Clear ornaments (I used glass but they do have clear plastic ornaments you can use)
- 1 sheet of green construction paper
- Scissors
Parents or another adult will be needed for this craft so you can cut sheets of paper-thin. The thinner the better to be honest because they must be able to push the paper into the hole to get in the ornament.
Directions for Grinch-inspired Ornaments:
- Cut paper into thin strips.
- Fold the paper back and forth (accordion-style)
- Push paper through the hole in the ornament.
- Put the ornament back together and hang on the tree.
Stocking Stuffer Movie Ideas
Don’t forget to grab some Christmas stocking stuffers to go along with How The Grinch Stole Christmas: The Ultimate Edition!
For the kids:
- Gift card to the local movie theater for family movie night. Movie style snacks, popcorn, blankets and Christmas cookies. Add one or two of these other Christmas movies below to make it into a fun Christmas Stocking for them.
