Searching for a Job
With only a week before graduation I must admit I feel like I’m going out of my head with worry. Why? I guess I kind of thought or maybe hoped to have a job before I actually graduated. In a week and a half I will be graduating my bachelor’s program and then I have no clue what I will do, my hopes were to land a PR/Social media type of job. I’m very passionate about both and would love to help other companies/people out in getting the word out about their product and getting paid to do so. My question is how does one go about looking for a job when they’ve only worked online, from the home for the last 15 years?
Here’s where I’ve looked so far:
Twitter– I use the following hashtags to find #PRjobs #marketing #socialmedia
Facebook– I have searched for jobs on Facebook and check several PR pages to see if they have any job openings. I have also asked if anyone had leads.
Job sites: Monster.com, Indeedjobs, simplyhired, Craigslist, Careerjobs, Usa.gov, TopUSAjobs and local job boards. So far all the jobs that have taken a bite out of my resume have been to sell something door to door.
Interview:
I was told that once you did more than one interview it would just get better with each one. I was under the impression they’d all be similar in nature, I was wrong. In my first interview, no lie, I was nervous as heck and it only lasted 5 minutes. Thankfully I had noticed all of the interviews before me lasted the same amount. Truth is I learned a lot from that interview, it was a quick course in the possible questions that would be asked. My second interview was more of a get to know all about the person giving the interview, I was never asked any questions. Puzzled I walked out of there wondering if I had just been in an interview or counseling. Another interview I had went to was a group one, where it was myself and many others watching a video. After the video we got to ask questions and talk, I loved this group but learned I needed an additional license that I did not have. So all in all, I’ve now been in three different types of interviews. That’s not my only interviews but the three that stand out. So you can’t really be prepared but do know that they can all be totally different from your last.
Okay so off to search for a job while I finish my last two assignments. Any advice?

Contests on graduating.Do you have any contacts with any pr companies since you started Blogging? If you do maybe reach out to them. See if they will give you an insiders look at how to get hired. Another suggestion if you apply Online for a job make a YouTube video talking about yourself and why they should hire you.
Goodluck with your job search.
