Jesus: His Life and What’s Your Favorite Bible Verse
Disclosure: I am being compensated for this post but I thought many of you would like this topic.
With Easter just around the corner, the final episode and series finale of “Jesus” His Life” airs this Monday, April 15 on The History Channel. Will you be watching it? I can’t wait to see it.
What is your favorite bible verse?
I actually have two favorite bible verses Psalm 20:4 and Jeremiah 29:11 both of which mean totally different things to me and I’ll explain below.
May he give you all the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed. – Psalm 20:4
Psalm gives me hope for my future because it tells me that everything I desire will come true. I think many of us forget to stop and ask God for the desires of our heart, I know I do. Instead we try doing everything our own way. We tend to push and pull and try making whatever it is we want to happen. Of course as many know, when you try to do things on your own it can only make matters worse or you get stressed out. Why? We do things the hard way, that is until we get so frustrated that we finally think “God please help.” The funny thing is he’s been sitting there waiting for us to call on him.
For I know the plans I have for you, ” declare the LORD, ” Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11
This Jeremiah bible verse tells me that no matter what, God already has a plan for me. This makes me feel good because even if I decide the wrong path God has already thought of it too and has another way to lead me back to where he wants me to go. Does that make sense?
Currently I’m in a season in my own life where I’m stuck. I want to go out and be successful but I’m just not sure what it is I’m suppose to be successful at. The only thing I know is God has asked me to be still and to wait for him to show me. I’m glad he has a plan for me, but I must admit I’m sometimes worried I’ve missed the sign or that I drifted a bit too far out to sea and it’ll take a while for him to catch up to me. I know this is impossible but it is those fears we have at our weakest moments.
Kids’ Favorite Bible Verses
Nicoli’s favorite bible verse he would say every morning before school once he learned it because I got the verse in a nice picture frame and had it by the front door. The verse? The Fruit of the Spirit is Love – Galatians 5:22-23
BabyGirl’s favorite bible verse is Psalms 23: 1 which reads, The LORD is my Shepherd, I lack for nothing. Which is so true because as long as you have God in your life, you have everything. All you have to do is pray and ask and it will be given to you.
