Holiday Gift Guide: Bookroo
Over the past few months I know many heard about the Children’s Book Challenge, well for my group of friends and me it worked. I loved watching the excitement in my kids’ eyes as a new book they either had no clue about or I hadn’t purchased for them arrived. They would quickly open their package and sit right down and read it. I, as a reader, loved seeing this and also as a parent.
I know the excitement of getting a book it the mail but I thought it might just be an adult thing because it is the little things that get us excited. Not true. I quickly went online to look and see if they had anything like this. Of course they do. Bookroo!
What is Bookroo? Simple this is an adorable little package that comes in the mail once a month and treats your little one to either 3 board books or 2 picture books depending on your age group. I couldn’t help but get excited just about reading what happens. See they don’t just send a box like amazon does and you open it up to the book. No! There is a bigger surprise. Inside this regular packaged box is gift-wrapped surprise books for your child. Yes, they get to open a gift. You can also choose to subscribe for 1 ($19.99), 3 ($55.99), or 6 ($104.99) months at a time.
Needless to say Bookroo was a hit at my house. I went online to make sure it was easy to do. You sign up, pick which one you want and submit your info. That’s it! Once a month it comes so you do want to click out of it if you don’t want to do it again. But imagine 2 or 3 new book surprises every month that comes to your house just for your little boy/girl. Nicoli was so excited when I showed him the little Kangaroo on the front of the package and told him it was for him. He couldn’t wait to open it!
As you can see by the video he was excited about getting presents in the mail from Bookroo. I loved watching his full expression. Can you picture a little one you know getting this? These would be a great way to encourage reading, or another way to send someone a little something extra once a month. I think these are great Holiday Gifts for Toddlers, Preschoolers and Elementary schoolers. Do you subscribe to the Bookroo? What are your thoughts?
If you subscribe I’d love to see pics of your books. You can post them here or on my Facebook page. I just think it is adorable to see a child’s face light up when they get a book. Best gift to give a child is the gift of love for reading.
Don’t forget to follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
This is definitely the kind of thing I would buy. I think adding books to the library on a regular basis is a great thing to do to keep interest up.
My kids would love this. I would buy this sort of thing probably.
That is so much fun. I love getting surprises in the mail, and my kids do also. This is a fun way to encourage their love of reading.
Both of my kids love to read, so I would love always having new books for them in the house. I would totally sign up for this.
What a wonderful idea for a Christmas gift! I would like to try it out 🙂
