Schwan’s Halloween Recipes
Disclosure: we were sent ingredients to make the recipes listed below for this review. All opinions and pictures are my own.
Are you ready to have a great Halloween Party but now you aren’t sure what to prepare? Not a problem, at least not if you know of a Schwan’s that runs by your house. Don’t forget Schwan’s is always willing to stop by your house to deliver you these ingredients as well as many others, wait until you see what they have in store for you next month. I was so excited when they shared their Halloween recipes with me and even more when they sent me the ingredients to make them myself for this post. But I am sad to say mine looked nothing like theirs, but the kids still had fun making the Monster Graveyard, Vampire Slush drink and, mashed potato ghosts (mine looked like they were melting) of course all those meatball spiders.
Here’s a few photos of our fun when we made them which you can see there is definitely a difference but I do believe our meatball spiders look a bit spookier. hehe. Each recipe is pretty simple and Schwan’s has most of the ingredients that they can deliver to you, there are a few things you may have to pick up though. Here’s an example of one of the recipes:
Spider Meatballs:
Ingredients:
12 Italian Style Meatballs (432), prepared (can be purchased through Schwan’s)
8 slices American Processed Cheese Slices (658) (can be purchased through Schwan’s)
2 Tbsp milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
12 round tortilla chips
1 cup chow mein noodles
1 Tbsp black olives, chopped
Italian Style Meatballs (432), frozen (can be purchased through Schwan’s)
1. Heat cheese and milk in microwave on HIGH for 1-1 ½ minutes. Stir to mix.
2. Dip warm meatballs in melted cheese. Roll sauced meatballs over shredded cheese and place on tortillas chips.
3. Stick six chow mien noodles on both sides as legs and make eyes using chopped black olives.
The kids and I have been having so much fun creating all these wonderful Halloween-themed meals provided by Schwan’s, now of course we had to improvise a little and no ours did not come out as wonderful as theirs did but it was a first for us.
This recipe is from the Schwan’s site, however I did do a few substitutes: instead of the chow mein noodles, we used top ramon and we sipped the chips. Kids enjoyed heating the meatballs up and tossing cheese over them and decorating with black olives and noodle arms/legs.
I don’t know about you but Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, every year I always make a Halloween Menu for the day. What type of treats or tricks go up on yours?
Loving those meatballs! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I didn’t know you could purchase all that through Schwan’s. Really appreciate the info.
These spider meatballs are so adorable! I can’t wait to make them for my kids!
Cute little spiders! Perfect holiday snacks! Love them 🙂
These are some great ideas. I love Halloween recipes. I might have to try these with the kids.
