January 29 is officially National Puzzle Day so of course, we are going to talk about puzzles! This is actually one of the Hallmark Puzzles! When was the last time you did a puzzle? I had no clue they had puzzles, to be honest up until last year I thought they were only cards but let me tell you this company has EVERYTHING.

Currently, Hallmark has 550 or 1000 piece puzzles and the scenes are amazing. I got to pick out anyone I wanted and I am a total country girl so this one was totally me. Puzzles have been something the girls and I have been doing even on the Kindles lately. So doing this on a table where we all gathered around to do it was even more fun. Sure we do game nights but this is one of those things you sit and just do something together until the very end.

What else do you do on National Puzzle day?  As you can see we got a 550 piece puzzle called, “New England Afternoon.” I love this collection, the only thing missing was the teacups and tea that would make this a great gift basket.

Don’t think I wasn’t drinking hot tea though, with pneumonia I’ve been staying busy with puzzles and coloring books, if I’m not laying down watching tv. I really enjoyed our puzzle though, especially the bonding time Katerina (BalletGirl) and I got to do. It is funny when you watch someone else start a puzzle. It seems she remembers all my teachings and hasn’t added to what I taught her in the past. Love this!

The best part about this box is the sides are taped so you don’t have to use your nail or a knife to cut the sides all around. Simply slice the tape or pull it off and open the box. Also unlike many puzzles, I have done this one keeps all the pieces together in a bag that you MUST open in order to get to it. Now you know you won’t lose any the moment you open the puzzle. Woo hoo! They strive to provide the very best and it shows.

The New England Afternoon is actually designed by a Hallmark Artist named Val Pillow who has worked for the company for over 27 years. This to me showed not only that they have talent but they do pay attention to their workers. The 550 piece puzzles are $14.95 and the 1000 piece puzzles are $19.95.

Val Pillow, former Hallmark Master Artist, has a keen understanding of pattern and shape. It is seen in the folk art on this puzzle along with her meticulous attention to detail. This charming depiction of small-town life in colonial America highlights her skills.

  • 550 pieces.

  • 18” x 24″

  • Proudly designed and manufactured in the U.S.A.

Happy National Puzzle Day! Did you celebrate by putting together a puzzle of some sort?
