Easy Peanut Butter Pie Recipe

I’ve talked about the famous Peanut Butter Pie many times on Facebook, to family and friends and I’ve heard a few of you ask what the recipe is, it is time I upload it. I originally saw the recipe at Southern Kissed but have added a few extras and taken out other items. This is an easy peanut butter pie recipe that my kids love to make, yep, it means mom doesn’t always have to make the desserts.

peanut butter pie

Ingredients Needed:

1 Pie crust (I cheat and buy the type already made for less than $2 with graham cracker crust)

1 small Vanilla pudding mix (instant)

½ a tub of Cool whip

1 cup Peanut butter

1 cup Milk

Instructions:

Mix together the peanut butter and milk until it is smooth. Add pudding mix until it is all mixed in, this is when the girls and I like to add in the cool whip. In the original recipe it asks you to layer the bottom of the pie crust with it and pour in the peanut butter, milk and pudding mixture. To us it tastes much better mixed in with the mixture and it makes it fluffier. Once it is mixed pour it into the pie crust, smooth out the top with a spoon and place in the freezer for 2 hours. Take the pie out and leave it at room temperature for 30 minutes, top it with cool whip and eat.

This tastes great with a tall glass of cold milk. My younger daughter likes a bit of jam on top of her slice, while my oldest says this would probably taste good with a drizzle of chocolate syrup over it. If you find it too rich try reducing the amount of peanut butter by ½ cup and if it is too sweet go with sugar free (the way I like it).

Oh and we have tried various graham cracker crusts just to see what we like, so far we are sticking with the original crust.  Hope you enjoyed this as much as we did! Got an easy recipe for us? Let me know in the comments and if you try making this let me know how it turned out.

  3. Wow, sounds super yummy!! And I love that it’s so easy!!!!

  4. It is so easy, I hope to post more “easy recipes” in the future. I’ve been making french toast casserole that the kids think I should share. We’d done it many different ways and discovered how we like it best. I love anything simple enough that the kids can do it with me or on their own.
