My Biggest Fear is
Today’s prompt is “My Biggest fear is…” and just like many I have the fear of closed in spaces. So my biggest fear would be to be locked into something that I can’t get out of. This could probably stem back to when I was a little girl and my parents went fishing at a lake and parked the car on the bank. I was sleeping so they left me in there but apparently at some point I woke up and when I did I got the brakes out of gear.
All I know is my parents said they heard the blurp, blurp as the bubbles were swallowing up the car as it went into the lake. My dad dove in to save me, thankfully the windows were down so he tried getting me from one side but due to the water coming in I was frantic and tried running back and forth. He eventually got me out but to this day I hate calm water and am afraid of small spaces. What is your biggest fear?
I am afraid of heights. i do not like to be high up and not have control.. makes me very nervous.
I’m a bit clausterphobic and I’m terrified of fires!
I just recently developed a fear for heights. Kind of freaked me out as it never was a fear before
My biggest fear is spiders! No clue why but it is!
I am terrified of ladders, but heights – not so much! How weird is that?
I am very similar, I hate that “I can’t get out” feeling.
I’m also terrified of rollercoasters. Blegh
Wow that was an experience, it is just like one of those scenes from a movie, thank God you survived and was saved. Right now, I really can’t figure out what I am most terrified of, but maybe of heights and water too.
Mice! Why do they say that they are more scared of us than we are of them. If this is true, then why aren’t they dead with a heart attack. Yikes!
Bugs! I have a completely irrational fear. And it stinks that I live in a wooded area and I have a Ton of them!
Being out of control. That is my biggest fear. I feel like I need to keep everything organized.
My biggest fear is my kids dying. Their food allergies scare me.
I love this prompt idea. It is a great way to shake up our blogs. Your fear is very real. I had a similar experience as a kid and really it never goes away!
What a terrifying experience. As a parent I am horrified. Thinking of that happening to one of my kids. As a person I am terrified. Thinking of that happening to me.
Oh my gosh, what a scary thing! I can’t even imagine how scary that would be for you AND for your parents! My biggest fear is failure.
I have always had a fear of someone getting into my house. I have a great alarm system but i still worry.
My biggest fear is being unable to provide for my family. It’s a big stress on me on a daily basis.
That is so scary! I’m thankful you were safe, but it’s no wonder that experience has had a lasting effect. My biggest fear is large knives. I know exactly where I developed that fear also. My brother is almost twenty years older than I am and pretended to cut his throat when I was five. I remember every single second of his prank vividly.
oh my goodness. Your car drowning story was terrifying. No wonder you have that fear. I made me feel that way to as you told it.
My biggest fear would be loosing my family. They mean everything to me.
That was a traumatic experience. No wonder you have a fear of closed spaces. I think my greatest fear is failure so I always try hard to succeed.
I fear failures. I hate that feeling of messing up.
BIggest fear? Having $0 money? Yes, that’s the truth. Besides the fact that I am afraid of flying insects and those that run really fast like mice. Eeew!
How scary! I fear closed-in spaces, too. In fact, they’re one of the things that triggers panic attacks for me. My biggest fear are bridges, though. It stemmed from my childhood when my mom and sister were driving to Indiana from Illinois in the pouring rain. Before getting on the bridge, my mom got in a car wreck, and the only thing that saved us was a few trees. 🙁
Your story gave me anxiety just reading it. I don’t know what I’m scared of… on a large scale, terrorism, nuclear war, etc. can be overwhelming.
I am so afraid of close spaces, that I have threatened my husband to hunt him if he buried me when I die. Yes, I know irrational, but there you have it…shivers….
What a terrible experience when you were a little girl. My biggest fear is public speaking. I think sometimes I’d rather jump off a cliff than get in front of a room of 20 or more to give a speech.
Sorry you experienced this! I hate small spaces!
When I speaking fears I sometimes feel like Monk being afraid of everything. I’m afraid of being trapped, going backwards, heights, crowds, talking to people on the phone, and I could go on. My biggest fear is losing my family. I know my smaller fears are always going to be there and I can live with them but I don’t know if I could bear the lose of my family.
I hate confined space. I would never be able to be locked in a box.
Oh wow good thing he saved you! I don’t like heights.
Oh my–that would make me scared of this too!! I couldn’t imagine being in a sinking car! I think my worse fear is having roaches crawling all over me. *shivers* Hate ’em!
I can understand your fear. Thank God you made it out alive. I don’t like my head being under water which is a problem because it’s preventing me from learning how to swim. One of the things on my bucket list is to conquer this fear.
I hate being locked in something and not being able to get out. I don’t like heights it’s like I’m drawn to the edge & BUGS ewwwwwwwwwwww! I’m not fond of the bitch black darkness either.
My biggest phobia is so big, that I cannot even type the word. It’s been said, so I will leave it at that. In reality, I have many fears. Fears I think are normal and healthy, it is when they become phobias that are debilitating that it gets ugly. Interesting post.
Living an unfulfilled life.
I’m a little claustrophobic, but I can fight it in my mind a bit. I don’t like being restrained though, even if someone won’t let go of my hand.
Holy moly… what a scary experience. I am claustrophobic so I hate confined spaces.
Yeah, I’m guessing this contributes to me not learning to swim and my fear of closed in spaces or going over water in a car. (bridges)
I am definitely claustrophobic too!
What a fun discussion – its so interesting to read everyone sharing their fears! Great topic idea, I love the interactivity!
I love topics where everyone can say how they feel or have an opinion. I have loved the interaction I have got on this blog in the past two weeks. 🙂 It is neat seeing how similar everyone is and different at the same time. I love seeing that some of us suffer from the same things, it shows we aren’t alone in this world.
my biggest fear is dying young.. I don’t want to leave my kids.
Oh my goodness, what a scary experience. My biggest fear is dying and not being there for my children.
