My Jesus is a song about faith.

Now this song is on fire for me. I absolutely love this, now as you watch you will just want to break right along with them at the beginning. How many of you have had an incredibly hard or tough situation hit them? Felt broken or lost? Sometimes, life doesn’t go the way we expect it to go, we even blame others or Jesus.

We don’t understand because we simply don’t know the plan and that infuriates us. But how many times have we yelled at him or ignored him and he is still there? He does miracles when we don’t think there are any. He shows up when we least expect him. Sometimes happens and we begin to see the bigger picture.

Singer/songwriter Anne Wilson knows the healing power of music firsthand. The lyrics of Hillsong Worship’s “What A Beautiful Name” became a lifeline for the Lexington, Kentucky native after her brother was tragically killed in a car accident at the age of 23. Although she spent much of her childhood behind a piano, Wilson sang in front of an audience for the first time at her brother’s funeral. This was when she knew that was what she was meant to do and she did exactly that. She creates her songs from her own journal (diary) entries, which to me means she totally feels every part of the songs she sings. How many of you wanted to write songs when you were younger? Did you ever feel called to do it?

Before we go any further here’s something she had to say about that very moment:

“I didn’t know it, but my parents had been praying to find someone to sing at Jacobs’s funeral. We were at home and I started playing the piano and singing, “What a Beautiful Name,” just worshipping by myself. My mom came in and asked if I would sing that song at Jacob’s funeral. I’d never sung in front of people before so I wasn’t sure, but I said yes. Then at the funeral, right before I pressed the first chord on the piano, I heard God’s voice speak to me. He said, word for word, “Anne, this is what I’m calling you to do.”

Now if you heard God, you’d be following what he said too. I’m so happy to watch Anne on both Tiktok and explore this journey as she releases her album and finds it in stores/restaurants. Knowing he told her this means we’ll be watching her get big and make a difference in other people’s lives. I can’t wait to see what he has planned next for her.

Anne Wilson will be going on tour this summer as part of the All This Future Tour. If you are curious as to which towns she will be visiting check out the tour list for All this Future.
