BerganExperience recently sent Shadow and Maxi (the kittens) a package to see what they thought of their toys. Anyone that has ever had a pet knows that they need something to keep them entertained, especially for those that are not home throughout the day and even those that are. A pet wants to be active, to play, to explore and of course if they don’t have something to keep them busy they are sure enough going to get themselves into trouble some how. Remember it was only a month ago that I complained about the kittens eating not one but two of my headphone sets for class. This was because we bought them one tiny ball and thought that was good. But they weren’t satisfied, they needed more than one thing to stimuli the two of them. Bergan sent them Turbo Tracks and the Catnip Hurricane to experiment with and let me tell you the kittens loved everything from the toys to the boxes they came in. I thought the whole boxes make great gifts for kids only worked with kids, I never realized it was for cats too. Lets face it cats and kids love them.
Immediately I took the box (had the Turbo Track in it) out of the box, as well as the Catnip Hurricane to see what they looked like. But this is when the kitties heard the balls. I had placed the balls in the hurricane and spun them. They immediately started going after them. Being a new pet owner I had not see this type of behavior, while I did grow up with cats and one chased aluminum foil balls the others laid around all the time. The Catnip Hurricane was basically put together. You do need to pour the catnip in the center and make sure that the balls are snapped in securely, but the cats do the rest of the work. It comes with two white balls that spin in the two tracks. This was fun to watch but when I put in the catnip for the Catnip Hurricane that is when Shadow went nuts, she dove face first into the middle section trying to get to the catnip. After that the two of them played with The Catnip Hurricane for a good while. Oh and I guess I should say when they would slow down with playing with it one of the kids would go by and smack the ball to make it spin, I think Little A was having just as much fun with this as the cats. The Turbo Track came in its own box, now this comes in pieces but they are very easy to snap together. The beauty of this you don’t have to just snap it together one way, this is made in such a way that you can custom it to you or your cats liking so experiment with it. Make a 8 track, or like my son says a race track, a circle, turbo 500, shape of a snake or even a heart. The ball fits right in the track and begin to spin the ball until the cats come running. They’ll quickly get the idea and begin playing with it themselves. There is a slight issue, the little ramp is hard for the ball to go over easily which means the cats may only try making it go back and forth and not over the hump. Or so I thought until my kittens finally figured out they had to use more force and kept chasing it. To add to the fun there are scratch pads that they sell separately that fit in the track. The Turbo Track can be purchased at Amazon for $12.99.
Both of these products are great for your cat/kittens entertainment but also to keep them exercising because they are using their paws and running back and forth to swat the ball. Can you tell the kittens really like these? If you can’t find these items on amazon you can definitely find them plus a whole lot more over at Bergan.

My kitties tell me there is no such thing as too many toys! We try to rotate them and take the extra ones to the kitties at our PetSmart Adoption Center. My cats love their turbo scratcher, and would probably enjoy anything similar. I would love one of those nifty food dispensers. We currently use an old litter tub, but I know someday “the kids” will find the lid is not very secure.
