Sweeney’s Snake Repellent Review & Giveaway
Wouldn’t you know it, about two weeks ago I was sent “Sweeney’s Snake Repellent” to review but due to all the rain I decided I shouldn’t put it down just yet. Sure enough I didn’t put it down in time and just this weekend as I’m playing out in the yard with the kids and reach down to grab the frisbee I almost grab a snake instead. Ugh. For the life of me all I know is it was pretty, shiny and I want to say was dark and a stripe of what looked to be silver. Other than that I’d never be able to identify it.
Here in Missouri we have several varieties of snakes some are venomous (5) but most are not(over 30), of course I couldn’t tell you which one I had. So, what do you think I did? Since it would be mean of me to go back out there and chop him up with a knife (if I could even get that close), I decided now was the perfect time to review, “Sweeney’s snake repellent.” Sweeney’s snake repellent is safe for both animals and kids so I felt a big relief there. Remember I had a hard time putting down cayanne pepper because of not wanting to hurt a dog. The snake repellent lasts up to 30 days after it has been sprinkled around the yard.
Instructions: sprinkle Sweeney’s snake repellent over the yard, like making an invisible border. Make a wall of 10 inch, you do have enough for 100ft. Do not water righgt after doing this.
I went all the way around my yard and along the house as to keep it away from getting in. After reading stories about people finding snakes in their toilets, garden sheds, etc I don’t want to be one of them. The husband took the kids out to Walmart and I ran outside with the repellent, by the time he was back I was done.
The snake repellent puts off a sweet but pungent aroma. Snakes get around by their senses and can’t stand the taste of the repellent so they go the other way. I’ll report back in two weeks to let you know if I have another run in. Due to my yard having a dip this makes it the perfect place for snakes to hide. Now I will state the husband could not stand the smell, however I actually liked it. Some of the ingredients include cinnamon oil, clove oil and cedar oil. He’s never liked the smell of cinnamon so that could be why. So you do smell something but I actually liked it.
You can find other repellents at Sweeney’s such as deer repellent, dog repellent (I may have to try this), rabbit repellent, etc. A 2 lb bottle like I got (100ft spread) costs $12.99 or you can get a 4lbs bag for $17.99.

I see at least one rattlesnake every Summer over here in Chico. Usually on the bike bath or when I’m hiking up in the park. I get startled when I see them, but then I’m pretty excited. Growin up in Northern CA, I’ve run into them a lot.

I hate to do it, but I’m losing the war BIG TIME against the gophers…. so I’d want to try the gopher poison peanuts!
Small Animal Repellent is something I could use.
Small Animal Repellent,thanks
I need the Dog and Cat Repellent to keep wild neighborhood dogs out of my flowers
I would really like to try the Gopher Poison Peanuts. We are overrun with gophers right now and have tried alot of different products.
I need the Snake Repellent most of all, but I could use the Small Animal Repellent too. Thanks!!
I am very, very, very frightened of snakes! My house is surrounded by woods and a lake, so we experience them frequently! A couple of years ago, I walked out the back door to take the trash out, and a HUGE chicken snake had crawled up on top of a brick column…I noticed it as it was dangling above my head! Scared me to death! It was atleast 6 feet long and about 6 inches wide. Chicken snakes are not poisonous, but I don’t care. To me, a snake is a snake. This one wound up to be a dead snake!
I would like to try the Deer Repellant.
Small Animal Repellent
I think the deer that visit our yard are beautiful, but I’m trying to grow food for my family and the deer are too hungry to let me do that…so I’d love to try the Deer and Rabbit Repellent.
We moved to a very rural area about three years ago. My hubby kept fussing about snakes, and since I hadn’t seen any, I told him he must be exaggerating. Well, one day when we were outside having the usual snake conversation, I’m heading towards my lounge chair, saying there are no snakes here, and what do I see slithering under my chair? A snake.

i would like to get the Small Animal Repellent
i bought some sweeny snake repellent after killing the first snake that had eaten a duck egg. i put it out just like it said all around my hen house and pen where my baby ducks are. came home the next day to find an even bigger snake with an egg in it. so i guess the chicken snakes here in oklahoma aren’t bothered by sweny’s snake repellent.
