Smart Ones…a Smart Food to Eat
I was recently asked if I would review the new steamers from Weight Watchers called “Smart Ones” which come in the freezer section at your local supermarket. I found mine at Walmart. As many of you know I have been on quest to lose weight and to eat better, of course there are times I do not wish to sit down and chop a bunch of food up and freezer meals come in handy, especially when I am running late. There were five choices but only three of the steamers at my store, I did purchase all three to try out: Ziti with meatballs and cheese, Chicken with terriyaki stir fry and Chicken with broccoli and cheese. There are also two others: Sesame chicken and Chicken with broccoli alfredo.
These meals are $3.18 there is a $1 off coupon right now when you purchase 5. (Click the link). The meals can either be steamed in the microwave for 4.30 minutes or cooked on the stove top, I chose the microwave as it is just easier for me with four kids.
The meal I am writing about for this was the Ziti with meatballs and cheese. I had half and then SoccerBoy smelled it and asked me for some. He ended up eating it all, I only got two forkfuls and one meatball. He gobbled it all up which means it definitely tasted good to me. Honestly to me, the noodles were a bit too soft for me but I did love the meatball.
SoccerBoy says “it tasted great, in a way it tasted like spaghetti and meatballs.”
