Looking for a last minute gift? Check out the new Minecraft X-box One Bundle currently in Best Buy Stores. Let me be the first to tell you they are selling out fast. My oldest is home for Christmas and this is the machine he wanted, we went to three stores before we found one. Sadly, the last one sold out just before we got up to the register. He still bought the X-box One bundle but a different version.

For parents wondering about the Minecraft games:   The games are very family-friendly and great for kids.  The toys and collectibles make great gifts for anyone already into the game.  The games can actually teach them to read, construct things, teach them about colors, creativity skills, math and social skills if they play multi-player. Parents I would recommend you still being in the room if allowing multi-player just because.

P.S. Little A (age 9) loved the Minecraft Story Mode ($29.99) because he got to pick his own Jesse person and fight the wizard and continue to fight different monsters, etc.

Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and creating these little homes/cabins/fortresses and going on adventures. Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. My kids love building their own little Minecraft forts and collecting farm animals. Honestly I can’t even build a single building as it makes me dizzy but somehow they can create these amazing things.

Play in Creative Mode with unlimited resources or mine deep in Survival Mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off dangerous mobs. Do all this alone or with friends. My kids LOVE creative mode, my oldest LOVES survival.

Minecraft mini collector case

Tip: For those with little kids I think the blind boxes ($3.49-7.99) are great as stocking stuffers and another item under the tree to collect them all in would be Minecraft Mini Figures Collector Case ($39.99). Aren’t those little guys cute? They’d fit perfectly in a stocking too. There are so many Minecraft toys/collectibles to fill those stockings such as the mini figures, swords, stuffed animals, etc.
