With Halloween only one week away it is time to get those books out and read to your kids, or have them read to themselves. Halloween is all about Goblins, Ghosts and other scary things but it doesn’t always have to be thanks to HomeTeam by Panasonic.  I know my kids can’t wait to put on their spooky costumes and go trick-or-treating. They’ve already been talking about how much candy they’ll bring back and how they’ll switch for their favorite candy bars. For me, after a few dentist bills that is a bit scary. Am I right? Thankfully we always put them in a bowl and I let them keep some and I bake the rest into little desserts. My favorite thing to do is read and Nicoli has been a huge fan of being read to lately, so I’ve been on the hunt for good Halloween/Fall themed books.

I have discovered a site called MyHomeTeam.com, download a one-month free trial from the App Store or on the site,  no credit card required which brings everyone together for fun games and reading. Currently this works for the desktop/laptop/android and Apple.  Bring in the whole family and make it fun, even bring in family/friends that aren’t in your town or even state. Pull in that Grandparent that lives in California, Florida or Maine and have them read to your child or share thoughts of the story with them even when they are in Kansas or Indiana. Distance no longer matters at bedtime.  This is a video service with built in books & games for kids ages 3-12 (or 2.5 yr olds) — like Netflix (which I LOVE), but for books (even better). So think about reading a bedtime story to your grandkids/niece/nephew on something that looks like FaceTime, but now, you have both the book right on the screen as well as the other person’s face!

About HomeTeam HomeTeam is a premier entertainment service that connects loved ones across generations and distance through video chat with reading and games. Have fun this Halloween season and don’t forget to curl up with those kids and read some good stories. Or just let them do it. Mine have already been playing the games and I have two reading books on it. Not to mention Nicoli keeps asking me to read him the stars, he thinks the ratings under each story is what it is called. Shhhh, he’s enjoying reading time with momma! Make this Halloween less scary by reading some of the books listed here.

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post, however I think ya’ll will love this site.

  1. What a neat idea! My 8 year old is spending her school year in France living with my parents so they’ve been loving her bedtime rituals and catching up on bedtime stories… I would love to participate once in a while because I miss that special time with her. I’m going to give Hometeam a try!

  2. This is a fantastic idea! My son so easily gets scared and then we have to deal with that whenever he tries to fall asleep at night.

  3. I love anything that encourages reading! My six year old is a new reader and very good at it but doesn’t always want to read when he could be playing.
