Halloween Faces with Sour Jacks

October 28, 2015 By · No Comments

Disclosure: I received complimentary Sour Jacks to facilitate my post. All opinions are 100% honest.

The kids and I have been having lots of fun making Halloween Treats this year. I love the fact they are older and can get really creative, even the 8 yr old. The kids like to do creepy and scary but sometimes they just like to get creative and have something cute, so when I asked if they’d like to help me make a Halloween Treat using Sour Jacks they all wanted in.

Sour Jacks challenged me to create a trick ‘or’ treat / Halloween inspired design, using their newest flavors; Lemonade, Wildberry and Green Apple.I must admit I really liked the Wildberry and green apples. BalletGirl and BabyGirl both liked the lemons, sorry I like sour but I can’t do sour on sour. What would you have used? I really loved the teeth idea. Have you ever watched someone’s face as they bit into a Sour Jacks?

Since I already knew the kids would be eating these right after they created them I wanted them to have something healthy to go with it. I grabbed a few apples (only $1 for 3) at the store and we did each of their favorites so these would be put to use. Oh wait, they needed some type of protein, hmmm, oh yeah we can add peanut butter. I let the older two slice into their apples and I did as well. The younger two can’t carve with a knife so they told me what to do. I even peeked at some pinterest ideas and decided to make a cute little frog. The one that won the kids over was the knife through the skull. Go figure right? I still say my frog should’ve won. haha. The kids said they needed worms to make it look like they’ve been dead for a bit and we all know Halloween isn’t much without gross worms crawling in and out of things. Right?

As you can see I’m not 100% perfect, but I’m a mom that likes to have fun with her kids and spend time doing the little things like this. I really hope in years down the road they’ll look back and remember these times, even when mom couldn’t make it look how she pictured it.

What would you do with Sour Jacks to make Halloween treats? Can’t wait to hear your ideas!
