Getting #projectready for the Science Fair
BalletGirl (she’s in 5th grade) is getting #projectready for her very first Science Fair this year. Unlike her brother’s science fair last year this will be a mandatory fair, every child in 5th grade that attends school must do a project as part of over half their grade. So as you can see this one is very important. This meant really thinking of something that she could experiment with and not something mom had done in the past as a kid because I wanted her to do it. (so no turning flowers different colors) There are a few sites that could’ve given her some ideas such as the Society for Science which gives some great ideas and many others.
But she quickly came up with an idea and was stuck on it no matter what we read. So she was going to need to go shopping for products, which we did but this weekend it was about making her project. Last weekend we did a trial run just to see if it would work, which was a good thing because there were some errors which taught her a lesson…always watch what you are cooking, even if it is crayons.
Yes, her project is about crayons and how you can change a solid into a liquid and back into a solid. Her exact question is which will melt faster: A group of multiple cookie cutters full of crayons at 400 degrees or just one cookie cutter full of crayons at 200 degrees. Tough one right? The result may surprise you. But I won’t reveal it. Check out her whrrl on it. (she loves comments)

Ta. Enjoyed your post.
