Fisher-Price’s CodeaPillar for Young Minds

July 6, 2016 By · No Comments

Disclosure: I was sent the Fisher-Price Codeapillar for review purposes, pictures and opinions are my own.

Think & Learn with Code-a-pillar

What do you think of the toys of today’s kids? I find them amazing. The amount of knowledge and learning it does is something that leaves me in awe.  I was recently sent a Fisher-Price Code-a-pillar, or Caterpillar, or Codeapillar according to my son. This  is geared to help develop the minds of children ages 3-6 yrs old in problem solving, planning, sequencing and critical thinking. These tech toys provide a fun and educational experience. Codeapillar will influence how children will learn, build, and grow.  With these new Kids Tech products/gadgets and learning apps, keeping your kids engaged couldn’t be easier.

I was so excited to got selected to review the Code-a-pillar because I have little inventors in this house and everyone loves technology. Last school year I was told by Little A’s (age 8 at the time) teacher that he wasn’t very up-to-date on today’s technology.   The lack of him having a computer was hurting him in class. I knew right then things would change all the way down to his little sibling, Nicoli. BabyGirl turns 13 years old next month and is all about science (she went to Stem camp this past Fall)

It wasn’t shocking that she was excited to show her 3 yr old brother all about the code-a-pillar and how it works. Course it didn’t take him long to figure it out, he even figured out that when the code-a-pillar runs into something it says “uh oh.” He knew he needed to turn it around and push the button to start it again.

I love that he is able to figure out he can control the direction this little bug does by simply changing direction piece and attaching it. For those that do not know the Code-a-pillar comes with the head (brain), 8 direction pieces a stop block and a go targets. There are 2 right, 2 left, 3 straight and the noise piece. Have your little guy/girl set up their code-a-pillar and ask them if they can figure out which way it will go and when.

He’s figured out it must light up the whole bug before it starts the directions. The pieces snap together just like a USB which makes it easy for little hands.  They are also light in weight so you don’t have to worry about them being too heavy for your child to pick up. They even have cards inside the box for them to follow the codes.

Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Pack and Little A says, “In Skylanders Superchargers starters Pack you are trying to defeat Kaos. The first chapter you meet your characters as you are leaving your home town because it was destroyed. You save three people and go to their academy to learn stuff and earn money. The little pieces are awesome. You can change out your characters/vehicles too which I hear you couldn’t always do. This is definitely on many kids’ Christmas lists this holiday season and not just kids but adults too and I can see why.

I love educational products for my kids, always have and always will. There is something about watching their minds work as they play with a toy and get more than just the original idea out of it. Recently Babygirl (age 12) attended a Stem camp during her Fall Break and loved it so much I wanted to find STEM products and did. So for all of you out there that are looking I must say this is definitely something for everyone, it isn’t just a small age group.  It’s Learning Resources Tumble Trax Magnetic Marble Run. Holiday Gift Guide: Bookroo

bookroo
Over the past few months I know many heard about the Children’s Book Challenge, well for my group of friends and me it worked. I loved watching the excitement in my kids’ eyes as a new book they either had no clue about or I hadn’t purchased for them arrived. They would quickly open their package and sit right down and read it. I, as a reader, loved seeing this and also as a parent.

I know the excitement of getting a book it the mail but I thought it might just be an adult thing because it is the little things that get us excited. Not true. I quickly went online to look and see if they had anything like this. Of course they do. Bookroo!

Batman Unlimited/DC Super Friends

October 27, 2015 By · No Comments

Disclosure:This is a sponsored post, that I thought some of you would love a chance at winning some money for the upcoming holidays.

Did you ever dream of being a super hero? Which one? If your kids are looking for as much superhero action as possible in one place, DC Kids is their answer. Oh and for fun, try thinking of some Halloween costumes they can make for this year. I recently was inside a store when I saw a cape and just couldn’t resist. There were two actually, one was black and the other blue with red trim. I’ll let you guess which ones those are and they are definitely making Nicoli feel like he is a super hero as he zooms around the room. Thank goodness he isn’t like his slightly older brother who use to think he was Spiderman and climb up my mantle and jump off. Not to worry he’s too little to read my blog so I’m safe for now. I love super powers and all the heroes that go with them and I’m definitely making sure he will too.

DC Kids latest animated series features all of your favorite DC characters from Batman to Wonder Woman and even Aquaman joining forces against the bad guys. Here’a little secret, I use to pretend to be Wonder Woman and fly around with my little cape. Hey, not just boys wear capes ya know. hehe But that ins’t part of the post, I want you to see the new Batman Unlimited.
