Disney Epic Mickey 2

December 17, 2012 By · 30 Comments

Have you heard that Disney Epic Mickey 2 is out and available for all game machines? Now I know my kids would’ve been really excited about this, but we don’t have a gaming machine. Long story short, I had a son that took a potty on the xbox (he sleep walks and wasn’t in the bathroom), and just a few months ago through he would help out in cleaning the house by washing the handheld device. Needless to say, the kids were not very happy about that. So I was kind of sad to tell Disney that we would not review this new game. But they sent us a hat anyways for hosting this giveaway.

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two immerses players in Wasteland, a world filled with 80 years of Disney’s forgotten characters and attractions lovingly crafted by industry luminary Warren Spector.

For the first time, Mickey and Oswald join forces as true partners. Players can play solo as Mickey Mouse, using his magical brush to paint in or erase the game world, or with a friend as Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, commanding electricity with his powerful remote control.

The video game is available on all major gaming systems including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Wii, and 3DS. PC/MAC will be available January 2013. For those that do not know Oswald has never spoke until this game, he will have the voice from the famous Scooby Doo.

Disney fans, gamers and parents can buy Disney Epic Mickey 2 at $59.99 for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U, $49.99  for Wii and PC/MAC and $39.99 for Nintendo 3DS.

Dislaimer: We were sent the Bunny Mickey Ears.

MailPix Review

December 14, 2012 By · 29 Comments

I was given a credit to go shopping at Mailpix.com, since I hadn’t heard of it before now I kind of wondered about it. But the end result was a great one, which I can’t wait to show you. The best part, if you are a bargain shopper like myself, especially around the holidays is there is a page of nothing but deals and coupon codes you can use to reduce the prices. Custom fleece blankets marked down from $43 to only $20 or snowflake ornaments for only $5.

Custom mugs could make great gift ideas for anyone that works from home or in an office. They have travel mugs, coffee mugs, etc. I love that you can design the mugs to include photos from your computer and write messages.

Christmas cards- You have 4 different types of greeting cards and many scenes for the surrounding. I picked a Christmas picture from last year with the Ho Ho Ho scene. I thought it was perfect for the photo. Currently you can get 50% off all cards using HOLIDAY as a coupon code.

I don’t know about you but I love canvas pictures because they look so great hanging on your wall. Don’t get me wrong, I love pictures in frames but there is just something about a canvas picture. Mailpix has them at rates from $35- $160.  The 8x10s are normally $80 but on sale for $35 right now.

fleece blankets

snowflake ornaments

My one tip, make sure whatever photo you use is good quality. As you can see the one I took of my kids at Christmas time last year did not turn out very well, it was too dark. But the professional one that we had done at our anniversary turned out great.

Wordless Wednesday: Sleeping with the Baby Bump

December 12, 2012 By · 5 Comments

Little A is already a very loving big brother to the tiny one inside my tummy, which we have nicknamed Johnny 5. Every day after school he runs up to me or comes into the house and wraps me in a hug and then quickly looks to the belly, lifts up the bottom of my shirt and talks to his baby brother. Yesterday was no different but I wasn’t feeling well and just wanted to lay down. He asked if he could talk with his brother and if I’d scoot on the couch. I did, a few minutes after talking with his brother, arm wrapped around the belly he was sleeping. Thought it was too cute not to share. Brotherly love. 🙂

Happy Wordless Wednesday!

Microfiber Rug from Dorm Co *Holiday Gift Guide*

December 10, 2012 By · 1 Comment

Only a few more years before my oldest is off on his own and in college. Course at those teenage years they already begin to decorate their room as if it was a dorm, they start requesting things like bean bag chairs, small tables, fridges for their room, etc. It shouldn’t be a surprise when I say I’ve already been looking at sites that target teens/college age students for gift ideas, which is why DormCo made our Holiday Gift guide. DormCo has pillows, rugs, safety items, trunks, bedding, posters and other odds and ends that may be found in a dorm room.

For review purposes we picked out the Microfiber dorm rug in chocolate espresso. He already has a bunch of wood furniture so I figured this would go nice and can definitely show who’s side of the room it is. Once the rug was placed in their it really did it make the room look like a dorm or a high school students. The rug itself is very soft, my youngest kept trying to tell everyone it was a blanket because of the softness of it. The price runs for $29.98 but Dorm co sells it for $19.58.

Made of soft to the touch microfiber
Anti-slip bottom – Quality tapered construction
Vacuum Friendly and Machine Washable
Sized to fit dorm rooms (available in 4 sizes)

If you don’t like the microfiber they have rugs in plush, rugs with designs on it to personalize the room more, faux sheepskin and many others.

Disclosure: We were provided a microfiber rug for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
