Murphy USA & Walmart are giving away cheap Gas!

June 30, 2011 By · 1 Comment

Yesterday the husband and three younger ones went on an outing to Missouri for an appointment. Thankfully Murphy USA and Walmart had just announced their newest deal….. Get .10 off per gallon when you buy gas at MURPHY USA using a Walmart Gift Card.  So I told the husband about it and on their way home they stopped to try it out….only he forgot to use a Gift card so didn’t get the same deal. But it was cheaper than the other gas stations in the area which is a great thing, especially when traveling.

Today I decided I wanted to try it out and see. It worked for me, I went inside Walmart, took a look around at all the neat Cars and Transformers stuff and then got my gift card. Once out of the store I quickly drove over (not too quick) to Murphy USA to get that gas. It was $3.45 per gallon, I ended up only paying $3.359 per gallon. Woo hoo! I was so pleased I went inside and got myself a water and a Reese’s peanut butter cup since I had saved it. 🙂 Just think of all the traveling you are about to do for summer or even just the 4th of July and the deal doesn’t end until September.

Check out the moment I did of it. Get .10 off per gallon

For those wanting more info on the .10 off per gallon check out the link.   Walmart offers dime-a-gallon gas discount in 18 states. The quick list of states doing it:

Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia

Water, Water, Water…Do you drink Flavored water?

June 16, 2011 By · 2 Comments

As many of you know I have been drinking water since January 1st in an effort to lose weight but to also drink/eat healthier for myself and my kids. During this process I have tried downing water every so many hours, putting things in my water and even flavored water. So yesterday I went on a mission to hunt down various flavored waters at Walmart to see what I liked and what I didn’t. Here’s a bit of water I did get:

Vitamin water, I have loved this since 2003 when I first tried losing weight. I absolutely love the dragonfruit but also the neat little sayings on the back of the bottles.

Pure Nestle water, now these are the plain ones. I typically purchase a few cartons (24pk) at a time about every two weeks.

Smart Water, these are the ones you always see Jennifer Aniston caring around. I love the fact they are so tall and taste great cold.

Note: I can’t drink warm water, but I will drink a ton of water if it is ice cold. Plus it burns more calories.

Yesterday I saw a whole section of Clear America waters, these are the sparkling waters with natural flavors in it. I remembered as a kid I use to like something similar that came in glass bottles so I had to try some. I grabbed one of everything but the orange and the lemon. Today the kids and I had a taste test and they fell for these waters, which means I can get them to drink these instead of all the sugary drinks they typically like. Mom is doing GOOD.  I love the wild cherry, BalletGirl loved the Key lime as she stated it tasted like Sprite and BabyGirl liked the Strawberry.

Marsh’s Project 18 approved Healthy Snacks

June 13, 2011 By · 1 Comment

Have you heard about Marsh’s newest thing? They have a logo called “Project 18 approved” which are all logos they have on the price tags showing you they have been approved as healthy snacks. I don’t know about you but now that summer is here I want my kids to eat all types of healthy snacks and sometimes I just want to grab and not read the entire box. With the logo on the price tag you’ll immediately notice if it is approved or not. Don’t forget normally they have a discount too since many are store brands, simply swipe your card at the end to find any hidden discounts going on.

To view all the wonderful summer snacks they have on the list check out my Intersect story. Eliza shops Marsh for #Project 18 Approved The kids enjoyed making their own trail mix, I loved introducing them to taco salads. I’ve always ordered mine at Taco Bell, etc but making them at home is so much better and healthier for you because you know what you are putting in them. I bought some beans, cheese, sun chips, salad mix (lettuce/tomato/black olive) and tossed it all together. Kids loved it. Their trail mix consisted of peanuts, sunflowers and bits of chocolate. Peanut butter is also part of that list and if your family is like mine that is a staple in our home. Peanut butter goes great in quick shakes/smoothies, sandwiches, on crackers/celery/apples, etc. What do you use for summer snacks?

Don’t forget in order to see what types of snacks are on this list to view them at #Project18 approved

I am loving this new website too, I use to use whrrl until they stopped letting you check in. This site allows you to add a certain amount of pictures, edit each one to say something and write a short story about what you did, where and on what date. You should check that out.
