That First Sleepover

February 17, 2011 By · 2 Comments

Well this momma is going to learn what it is finally like to have one of her girls to go to their first sleepover. Sleepovers are definitely a lot different from when I was a kid. I remember we would pack a sleeping bag, pillow, night gown and the basics and head over. We’d all rent a movie that night, have a little party and finally fall asleep all giggling. The following morning we’d have to rush home before 8 am.

Today, or at least this particular sleep over will last until at least 2pm. the following day. Truth is my girls have never spent the night at someone’s house. Maybe I’m overly protective but they’ve also never told me someone invited them. It took a bit for me to agree to this but since it will be a group of girls I thought it would be better. I said yes! lol. I’m sure she never thought I would but truth is BalletGirl is ready and wanting to grow up so quickly.

So how do you deal knowing your young one won’t be home that night when you peek on all your kids around midnight and 2 because you hear a noise?

Mamavation Monday, a Day Late

February 15, 2011 By · 9 Comments

Due to some things I was not able to get to this yesterday, so I’m posting my Mamavation Monday today…Tuesday. Talk about one hectic weekend, I won’t go too far into detail but it was stressful. Plus my daughter got sick, I thought it was scarlet fever but thankfully it wasn’t, just a sore throat, bad cough and a weird rash due to the cold weather. Now lets get to talking about why ya’ll are here.

The weigh in yesterday would’ve shown you that I was at 203, however today I stepped on it and have this picture:

This means that since January I have lost 23.5 lbs. Just for February it means I have lost 9 lbs. So almost to where I wanted to be by the end of February and that is 199. I would like to lose at least 5lbs a month, but 10 is definitely nice to see, it means I’ll hit 150 by the end of the year. Last week I did the Fast Forward (5 day plan) from the book Cinch by Cynthia Sass and I must say it definitely worked. Woo hoo! But I now know I don’t like plain yogurt nor do I like raspberries. Ikkk. I did have to substitute raspberries and used strawberries instead, so for those that may try it that is a thought, or Cynthia told me on her page that blueberries work too.

The New Me Shining through

This week I will be working out on the treadmill at least 30 minutes, followed by 100 leg lifts, 100 ab crunches and a walk at night. I may kick it up by adding a video or two but not sure yet. As always don’t forget to drink that 8 cups of water a day!
