To me “wellness” means a lot of different things. For starters wellness means being well, not being sick. Last year and the year prior I got sick twice, both times they were over 7 weeks long and I never won’t to go through that again. But wellness also means you are taking care of your body and mind. This is where it becomes hard, as adults we tend to go through life and rush which of course means sometimes we don’t think about what we are putting inside our bodies. Running late, well swing through the drivethru and pick something up. But eventually, it all catches up to you and that’s what happened to me.
January 1st I decided that I wanted wellness for more than one reason. Kids, health and to live longer. I didn’t want to become another statistic in life, I want to live life to the fullest, to be able to enjoy chasing after my kids and to be healthy enough that I end up playing with my grandchildren long in the future. Wellness also means prepping the mind. No longer will I allow my mind to think the negative thoughts, instead now when I look in a mirror I see me, a woman that is losing weight and showing a lot of determination.
