Over the weekend we decided to take the kids over to the park. We didn’t do anything else, went and grabbed McDonald’s and drove straight there. The kids had no clue, which meant we were asked 20 questions along the way. But once there their eyes were huge, they haven’t been to the park since school started and we stayed for a few hours. SoccerBoy happily took his brother around the playground and dad and I rested on one of the nearby benches. The girls….well lets just say a ton of boys were chasing after them.

September 28, 2010 By · 1 CommentThanks to some patient teaching, online resources and my very helpful book, “College Algebra Demystified” I passed the class. What’s that? Oh, the grade? I got an “A” in both my Business Algebra Class and my Personal Finance Class and I walked away with a lot of it in my head which is a good thing. I only have 5 classes remaining and then I’ll have my AA….woo hoo! Trust me, doing all
these classes has been a ton of work and not to mention stressful at times. I think the hardest part is learning it all in 5 weeks and then trying to remember it. But it is also having classes with assignments and scheduled chats on the same days and times. (I think they need to work on that)
I recently saw a comment on my blog from the author, Rhonda Huettenmueller, and wanted to say “Yes, the book really did help me. I highly recommend it to anyone that needs to see the problems worked out step by step. That was my biggest issue, online in the labs it’ll show the problem being worked for a few steps and then immediately jump from to the answer. Ummm, that doesn’t help, it is in between that I’m having the issue. The book definitely helped with this. Thank you.” For those of you taking classes what are you in? How are you doing? Those that aren’t can you remember going through math of any type? What was fun about it and what did you hate?

September 22, 2010 By · 2 CommentsHappy Wordless Wednesday. I can’t believe how far apart my last post was from this one, but as many of you know I’ve been in college class and the math portion was KILLING me. But also during that time I have been playing a bit over at Squidoo. So today’s picture is the result of a dare the kids and I had over my squidoo lens, “Easy Croissant Recipes” in which we agreed to try new ones and post about them. Let us know what you thought. Drop me a line and let me see your WW!
