Step Out in 2011 with Kiss Nails

December 31, 2010 By · No Comments

Everyone loves dressing up for the New Year and why should 2011 be any different? Put on those dancing shoes, throw on your party dress and do your hair. Oops, one thing you may have forgot or overlooked….your nails. Looking down you notice they are chipped, cracked or bit back. Ever since we reviewed the Kiss Nails I must say I’ve kept myself pretty stocked up on it and I think these nails would be a must for a night like tonight. Here’s a few for your New Year’s Eve Night:

Many of the Kiss Nails can be found in Walgreens, CVS and http://www.beautyonlinesupply.com/.  I prefer the silver and black nails myself, but my daughter would choose something with more of a flare. What type do you like?

CollectiveBias Gets Healthy!

December 31, 2010 By · 6 Comments

With the New Year approaching I can’t help but think of one of my goals, to lose weight and get back into shape. I still can’t believe it has been 14 years since I graduated high school, a time in which I ran track and cross country….yet today I could never run like I once did. I don’t want to hold back as I enter 2011 and I hope you can help by supporting me in this mission. Thinking back to high school, a time in which I never thought twice about what I wore, yet today I struggle get into things or I worry about the way I look. It’s kind of funny when you look at it like that, how much you’ve changed over the years.

Back in 1996

Sure I’ve blamed having four kids, course than I look at moms that have had more than four or like 19 and back at myself. There’s no excuse except I quit practicing what I use to do, I let myself eat and I stopped working off what I ate. A time in which I weighed only 113-121 yet when I look at the scale today it goes over 200. I’m disgusted! I want to be able to lose a LOT of weight this year, but I want to first be able to cut the junk out of my life and replace it with the good…mixed in with a bit of exercise. So when CollectiveBias asked our group if anyone would like to take the #31Days challenge with LeanCuisines and Skinny Cow I jumped at the chance. I’ve reviewed Skinny Cow a year or two ago and loved the ice creams and I’ve ate Lean Cuisines more than once. But this challenge would use 11 bloggers and we’d all be held accountable plus we’d have a support group. I love this and of course I’ll be doing it. I’m even going to be taking photos of me (eeeek) and some video chats on here. Here’s a list of the weightloss groupies that’ll be doing the challenge with me. :)

Change of Plans DVD Giveaway

December 30, 2010 By · 61 Comments

A new movie will be hitting Fox on January 8, 2011 which is called, “Change of Plans.” Change of Plans looks to be a funny, yet heartwarming and I’m sure this will surely bring tears to my eyes so I’ll have a box of tissues next to me. All the kids are excited about this one, which means this will definitely be our Family Movie Night! Do you have one?

Change of Plans is about a husband and white that are basically career-oriented and living the high life, they’ve just celebrated 5 years only to get a call just before their trip to find out a friend has passed on and they were listed as guardians to their friends’ children. Yes, children as in 4. They are going from no children to an instant four, only Sally asks that they quickly find the kids a replacement family as they have no clue with them. My question is will they fall for the kids right before they find a new adoptive family, or will they be better off without them?

Change of Plans” is set to air on January 8 at 8/7c on FOX. For those curious about who is in the movie you have:
- Jason played by Joe Flanigan of “Stargate Atlantis”
- Sally Danville by Brooke White of “American Idol”
- Dorothy played by Phylicia Rashad of “The Cosby Show”

Wordless Wednesday: My Frog Ornament

December 29, 2010 By · 6 Comments

This has got to be one of my favorite Christmas gifts ever. My son, SoccerBoy, knows how much I absolutely love frogs and while we were shopping a few days after Christmas we went by the Christmas aisle where everything was on sale and said, “Mom here” and placed it in the cart. He bought this with his own money and all. I love, love, love this little frog.

See as a child a frog came into our garden and I wrote a series of children’s books all devoted to this frog’s adventures. My dad was very encouraging of it and even got me several frog items through the years. Each year I tell people just to get me frogs, each year some listen and others don’t. One year, the year BabyGirl was born I went out and got a tattoo which of course happened to be of a frog. The frog is wearing a jester’s outfit which actually looks in many ways like the old WB frog. This frog actually came to me in a dream where he was sprinkling dust over me, when I woke I remembered everything and wrote a very long story that came from that dream. To this day I still love frogs, but have been on the search for any stuffed frogs that have the really long legs (like the one in my dream that stood 6 feet tall) but still no luck.

The ornament frog is the closest I’ve come. I love his long legs. Thank you SoccerBoy. Happy WW!

Opening Gifts During Christmas Break

December 28, 2010 By · No Comments

It has begun snowing once again, which means the kids will have even more snow in order to make that igloo. Unfortunately the hubby must’ve ate something or got that tummy bug that has been going around out here because he was getting sick all night and not from stones. He is staying home today. Kids were excited to see him home though and of course even more excited when they got to open gifts this morning instead of waiting for him to get home around 6-7pm. Here’s a clip of them opening one gift each this morning.
