Star Wars Clone Wars Weekend

September 29, 2008 By · No Comments
Over the weekend we had a Star Wars Clone Wars Party. No, it wasn’t anyone’s birthday but the new season (cartoon) of Star Wars Clone Wars begins next week and the company wanted to spread the word. I signed up to be a host at HouseParty and they selected me and sent me the goodies.

Like many parties, not everyone showed up, we competed with the town festival without realizing it. But or those that did show up they had a blast. SoccerBoy liked what he saw of the dvd (they gave us a DVD of the upcoming season plus other shows coming out) but the kids were too loud to watch the whole thing.

We also got posters they got to take home, glo sticks, stickers, tattoos and balloons. But the best was the Star Wars Clone Wars Force Action Lightsaber Vader, which makes noise like the movie and lights up. Oh there is also a spring activated blade that pops the sword out.

Dial Complete Giveaway

September 26, 2008 By · No Comments

I was recently sent two botles of the new Dial Complete Antibacterial soap (ours was soothing white tea scented) but it also has a new feature, at least to us it did. Now I won’t lie, we’ve been using the Antibacterial soap for a while, but this one has a touch of lotion in it which makes your hands soft after using it.

Dial Complete has teamed up with The Life of a Homemom for their Campaign for Clean Hands, which is very important to instill in kids and have offered to give one lucky winner an entire case (8 bottles) of the Dial Complete hand soap.

Rules: A always you will have to leave a comment. The stickler is you must tell me what scent you’d like by visitig Dial’s Site and tell me one way you encourage keeping hands clean. Simple enough right? Make sure to leave a working email.

The winner: The winner will need to contact me with his/her mailing address after I’ve posted, you’ll have 24 hours to respond. I’ll then need your mailing address which I’ll give Dial Complete and they’ll send you your case. Make sure in your comments you leave a working email.

Deadline: The winner will be announced Friday, October 3. You have until I announce the winner at 8 a.m. (central time) that morning. Good luck!

Giveaway Alert

September 23, 2008 By · No Comments

More giveaways are coming along with a ton of reviews, I just need a bit more time and scheduling on this computer. Hopefully, if all goes right I should have a computer by this weekend. Keep those fingers crossed for me as the librarians know my every move and I feel like I’m some type of spy or something. Not to mention trying to get all your posting done in a limited time and watching the clock just tick away.

Ringling Brothers Blog Tour

September 17, 2008 By · No Comments

Do you remember going to the circus as a child? Did you ever get a chance to see a Ringling Bros Circus? These were my favorite, we only went to a few but they were a blast. I just loved watchig the acrobats, of course I was like the rest of the kids wishing to join them one day. In the meantime my favorite thing at the circus besides them was the pink cottony stuff, ya know the cotton candy. Yumm, it was soft and deliciously spun just to make it melt in your mouth and hot and freshly done. Not like these things you can buy in the stores these days. My father would treat us to a hot dog, soda and cotton candy then we’d all share a bag of popcorn during the show.

We’d watch in awe as they performed above us or laugh out loud at the funny things the clowns would do, including soaking us. It was hot anyways so we never minded. The circus reminds me of the simpler times in life when it really was family first in America, not all this rush rush rush.

I got a CD of the Ringling Bros and showed my kids, we got it through MomCentral. The kids loved it, enough to watch a second time. My daughter was worried the lions would eat the men in the show. BabyGirl wanted like the horses and elephants, she wants to be one to ride them and do neat stuff like that. BalletGirl wants to perform on the high wire, talk about no fear. Their brother, SoccerBoy loved watching the lions and the motorcycle performances. Course each one got a clown nose to play with from Ringling Brothers, I’ll also give some of our upcoming party guests some noses.

Here’s a list of dates they’ll be in your town, we had to miss ours.:(
