Sad day for Wiggles Fans…

November 30, 2006 By · No Comments

If you have a child under 8 you’ve probably heard of “The Wiggles.” Songs such as: “Fruit Salad, The Monkey Dance, Hot Potato and Where’s Jeff?” Jeff, (the yellow wiggle) has been absent from the show over the last three months and a replacement has been taking his place in the mean time and he probably won’t be returning.

Greg Page (Jeff) has a condition called, “orthostatic intolerance” which deals with the heart and a few symptoms are fainting and lose of balance. To read more about this condition check out this interview at ABC. This disease just doesn’t disappear over night, he’ll have it for the rest of his life. From what I’ve read about it he’s suffered from this for the past 12 years, but only recently it started getting too serious. So now he needs to take time for himself to focus on it and figure out how to live with it.

Before parents worry too much, there has been a replacement for some time for Greg so I doubt they’ll be shutting down the show. Just the original Jeff will no longer be on it.

Greg (Jeff) will be deeply missed by children all around the world.

I’m in LOVE with a Pillow and Baby Talk

November 29, 2006 By · No Comments

That’s right I’m in love with something I sleep with and it isn’t my husband. Okay well not just my husband. This past weekend my father-in-law came down and brought a gift just for me. I was a bit shocked and wondered why, I knew he didn’t know my birthday was this week. Apparently the last time he came down he’d seen the condition of a pillow that goes everywhere with me. This pillow is a feather pillow and I’ve had it now for about 5 years. It is no longer white, if anything it is a bit of a beige color…I’m not even sure if that is the color. But you get the drift, it can no longer be bleached and no matter how hard I try keeping it from the kids one always seems to find it. So it is old, but old isn’t always bad, especially once you get comfortable with it and have broke it in. Am I right?

Well I have a confession, the pillow in which he brought down is this a Sealy Posturepedic® White Goose Down Pillow. Whether you keep it in the ziploc bag it comes in or take it out you can feel how super soft it is. Now I had no clue if I’d even like it because it wasn’t straight feather but I’ve learned Goose Down is much better. I sleep a lot better with it now and I definitely don’t allow anyone to have this one. It will stay pure white as long as I can keep it that way. In the meantime, it is tucked under my covers in my bedroom until it is time to go to sleep.

Now for some baby talk…went to the doctor yesterday for my routine check. Baby measured 25-26 weeks so we are right on schedule. Not saying how much I’ve gained, I have my own issues with this but will eventually get over it I’m sure. Brought all three kids because they decided to have my appointment at 3 p.m., 15 minutes later the kids would be getting out of school. I didn’t want a 9 and 6 year old home alone so I took them too. This was a first time any of my kids have been to this little man’s doctor appointments. They were angels. PHEW! However once we listened to the heartbeat SoccerBoy insisted I’m pregnant with twins. Yes, once again we heard two heartbeats but one is mine. But try convincing him of that now that he heard two. haha, not happening.

Now I’m off to lunch, have a nice day ya’ll.

Cyber Monday attracts Visitors and Mommies

November 27, 2006 By · No Comments

I didn’t venture out far on Black Friday, one reason is because of the kids. The second reason was…well did you watch the news? People were shoving and fighting in parking lots, others that got through the front doors fell and got walked over. It was horrible. But I did do a bit of shopping but not enough, which is why I like Cyber Monday.

For those that don’t know what cyber monday think about it being an online version of black friday. You get to do all your shopping online and on this particular monday there are GREAT deals. Look at etoys.com for instance currently they are doing a 60% sale. I’m guessing you can find deals elsewhere but this is a STEAL. But they aren’t the only online store doing this walmart.com, amazon.com and many, many others. Check out your favorites to see if they are jumping on the bandwagon.

Some Etoy finds:
Looney Tunes Monopoly $14.99
Kelly Sweetsville Donut Shop Playset $3.99
LeapFrog: Turbo Twist Brain Quest Cartridge- 5th and 6th Grade $7.99
Care Bears: Fit ‘N Fun Care Bear – Wish Bear $14.99

Walmart Finds:
Tamagotchi 2 bundle packs $20.00
DeLonghi Steam Cappuccino Espresso Machine $39.87
Smallville: The Complete First Season (Widescreen)$15.88
Suisse Sport 18′ x 10′ 3-Room Tent (Sleeps 5-6) $49.00
Baby Einstein Music Bundle – $25.00

Amazon Finds:
Save 30% on toys and games
Save 70% on Kitchen and household wares

These are just a few deals I’ve come across this morning and I don’t plan on stopping yet. I’ll update as the day goes on.

My Day After Thanksgiving

November 25, 2006 By · No Comments

For many Christmas season doesn’t start until they see Thanksgiving with Charlie Brown or once they start hearing those familiar christmas carols. For me, Christmas starts Thanksgiving Day…okay, actually on the television as I watch the Macy’s Day Parade and of course that’s just what I did on Thanksgiving Day. My kids and I curled up on the couch and watched the whole thing, we really loved watching the Grinch Skit, there were others but that was our favorite. What was yours? What kick starts your Holiday season?

Other things for me are movies that will be playing and of course my favorite, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” I’ll be watching that until Christmas day! Oh and lets not forget that every night has to be topped off with a steaming cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows.

Now there wasn’t any turkey, since Soccerboy is actually allergic to the little bird, instead there was mac-n-cheese and stuffing. Stuffing being my choice.

As for today, I did venture out and do a SMALL black friday shopping. But first I hit up Golden Corral and didn’t have to fight any crowds, after we were done we went to the base toy store and did some christmas shopping. I pointed at everything I wanted and took the kids to the car, hubby did the shopping and once outside I had the kids watch the floor until the gifts were loaded.

There was the Alphabet Train Station that I wanted for BabyGirl as well as a few My Little Ponies. Video games and a game cube for SoccerBoy, okay the cube is for everyone. A few strawberry shortcake dolls, an easy bake oven and a few ponies for BalletGirl. Now we aren’t done but these were just a few of our buys today.

McDonald’s and cravings…

November 21, 2006 By · No Comments

Okay I’m trying this out since it didn’t work for me on my xanga site.

I never totally believed in the whole craving bit but I guess with this pregnancy things are a bit different and why wouldn’t I get them. So, guess what my cravings are? lol. I have never been one to eat red meat, however this little boy of mine loves Cheeseburgers or Big Macs from McDonald’s. Did ya’ll go through something like this?

In the middle of the night, hubby will be getting off work. What would you like? hehe, Big mistake asking buddy, I always have him drive clear over to McDonald’s which is a bit closer than Wendy’s so I don’t feel so bad. Our favorite McDs is located right at the corner of the busiest road in Jacksonville, thankfully there is a light but it is always packed. Good thing is by the time he’s getting off work at his second job it is NEVER packed. hehe.

Now doesn’t that picture just yell out McDonald’s? So, what’s for dinner tonight? By the way, I did win a flurry from this but never did cash it in. 🙁 boo hoo, as I love those things. Oh and for those that were wondering, yes I am getting money from this. In fact, once I get paid (within 24hours) I’ll be headed to McDonald’s for dinner.
