Sad day for Wiggles Fans…

November 30, 2006 By · No Comments

If you have a child under 8 you’ve probably heard of “The Wiggles.” Songs such as: “Fruit Salad, The Monkey Dance, Hot Potato and Where’s Jeff?” Jeff, (the yellow wiggle) has been absent from the show over the last three months and a replacement has been taking his place in the mean time and he probably won’t be returning.

Greg Page (Jeff) has a condition called, “orthostatic intolerance” which deals with the heart and a few symptoms are fainting and lose of balance. To read more about this condition check out this interview at ABC. This disease just doesn’t disappear over night, he’ll have it for the rest of his life. From what I’ve read about it he’s suffered from this for the past 12 years, but only recently it started getting too serious. So now he needs to take time for himself to focus on it and figure out how to live with it.

Before parents worry too much, there has been a replacement for some time for Greg so I doubt they’ll be shutting down the show. Just the original Jeff will no longer be on it.

Greg (Jeff) will be deeply missed by children all around the world.

I’m in LOVE with a Pillow and Baby Talk

November 29, 2006 By · No Comments

That’s right I’m in love with something I sleep with and it isn’t my husband. Okay well not just my husband. This past weekend my father-in-law came down and brought a gift just for me. I was a bit shocked and wondered why, I knew he didn’t know my birthday was this week. Apparently the last time he came down he’d seen the condition of a pillow that goes everywhere with me. This pillow is a feather pillow and I’ve had it now for about 5 years. It is no longer white, if anything it is a bit of a beige color…I’m not even sure if that is the color. But you get the drift, it can no longer be bleached and no matter how hard I try keeping it from the kids one always seems to find it. So it is old, but old isn’t always bad, especially once you get comfortable with it and have broke it in. Am I right?

Pillow in question

Well I have a confession, the pillow in which he brought down is this a Sealy Posturepedic® White Goose Down Pillow. Whether you keep it in the ziploc bag it comes in or take it out you can feel how super soft it is. Now I had no clue if I’d even like it because it wasn’t straight feather but I’ve learned Goose Down is much better. I sleep a lot better with it now and I definitely don’t allow anyone to have this one. It will stay pure white as long as I can keep it that way. In the meantime, it is tucked under my covers in my bedroom until it is time to go to sleep.

Now for some baby talk…went to the doctor yesterday for my routine check. Baby measured 25-26 weeks so we are right on schedule. Not saying how much I’ve gained, I have my own issues with this but will eventually get over it I’m sure. Brought all three kids because they decided to have my appointment at 3 p.m., 15 minutes later the kids would be getting out of school. I didn’t want a 9 and 6 year old home alone so I took them too. This was a first time any of my kids have been to this little man’s doctor appointments. They were angels. PHEW! However once we listened to the heartbeat SoccerBoy insisted I’m pregnant with twins. Yes, once again we heard two heartbeats but one is mine. But try convincing him of that now that he heard two. haha, not happening.

Now I’m off to lunch, have a nice day ya’ll.

Cyber Monday attracts Visitors and Mommies

November 27, 2006 By · No Comments

I didn’t venture out far on Black Friday, one reason is because of the kids. The second reason was…well did you watch the news? People were shoving and fighting in parking lots, others that got through the front doors fell and got walked over. It was horrible. But I did do a bit of shopping but not enough, which is why I like Cyber Monday.

For those that don’t know what cyber monday think about it being an online version of black friday. You get to do all your shopping online and on this particular monday there are GREAT deals. Look at etoys.com for instance currently they are doing a 60% sale. I’m guessing you can find deals elsewhere but this is a STEAL. But they aren’t the only online store doing this walmart.com, amazon.com and many, many others. Check out your favorites to see if they are jumping on the bandwagon.

Some Etoy finds:
Looney Tunes Monopoly $14.99
Kelly Sweetsville Donut Shop Playset $3.99

A Movie for Your Little Girl

November 26, 2006 By · No Comments

Tune your channel to Disney tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern time, as “Molly: An American Girl on the Home Front” will be playing. Chances are if you have a little girl then you’ve already heard of the American Girl dolls, but you may not have heard they were making them into movies now.

“Molly: An American Girl on the Home Front” is just like it sounds, a little girl growing up on the war front. She’s living in a midwestern town and the year is 1944, war has broken out everywhere and there is no where to get away from it. You see it on the streets, when you go to the movies and even back at home. It’ll show scenes of Molly and her friends learning all about small and large sacrifices, such as losing a soldier. She’s heartbroken when her dad decides to enlist and go off to war, her mom gets a job at the factory to help support the family and then a new surprise as a little girl moves in because her mom dies after a bombing. Molly must deal with all of this. Yes, this movie will make those tears come but it’ll teach a very important lesson in the end.

American Girl actually already has had two movies out before today those were: “Samantha: An American Girl Holiday” and “Felicity: An American Girl Adventure.” Both of these movies will be playing on December 2nd on the Hallmark Channel. Don’t miss them!

Before the movie begins check out http://dolldiaries.com/”>Doll Diaries for games, updates and other American doll information. This is a wonderful site that’ll teach you all about the dolls coming out and movies to watch.
